Our Goal

Matchpoint Daily publishes evergreen explainers about volleyball, beach volleyball, badminton and table tennis: rules, technique, tactics, competitions, history and equipment. Our goal is accuracy and clarity. This page explains how we choose topics, how we check facts and what we do when we get something wrong.

How We Choose Topics

We focus on questions fans and recreational players genuinely ask and that stay relevant beyond a single tournament week: how a rule works, why a tactic or technique is used, how a tour or championship is structured, or how a team or player built a legacy. We avoid rumours and content that depends on this week’s results. We do not publish betting, odds or gambling content.

Research and Fact-Checking

Rules content is checked against the current official rulebooks: the FIVB Official Volleyball Rules and Beach Volleyball Rules, the BWF Laws of Badminton and the ITTF Laws of Table Tennis.
Competition formats, rankings systems, records, medal counts and dates are checked against official federation and tour sources, along with reputable reference works and established news outlets.
Where rules or figures can change, we state the point in time they refer to, for example “as of the 2026 season”.
Training and technique articles give general, widely accepted guidance only. They are not a substitute for a qualified coach or medical professional.
If we cannot verify a claim, we leave it out. We do not invent quotes, statistics or personal experiences.

Sources

Each article ends with a list of the main sources we used, linked so readers can check them. We prefer primary sources such as governing bodies, rulebooks and official tour sites.

Use of AI Tools

AI tools assist our team with research organisation and drafting. Every article is then fact-checked against sources and edited by a person before publication. Responsibility for what we publish rests with our editorial team, not with any software.

Authorship

Articles are published under the pen name Claire Holloway, which represents our small independent editorial team. We do not attribute credentials or experience to the pen name that we do not have.

Corrections

If you find an error, please email [email protected] with the article link and, ideally, a source. We review every report. Factual errors are corrected promptly, and significant corrections are noted at the end of the article with the date of the update. We also review evergreen articles when rules or formats change, such as the change to badminton scoring approved for 2027.
